New Ground Handover At End Of Month

11th September, 2006

Nottinghamshire County Council will be hosting the official handover of Carlton Town's new ground on Monday 25th September.

By this time, all outstanding jobs should have been completed.

Despite the fact that Carlton are now playing games at the new 'Bill Stokeld Stadium', several jobs remained outstanding with relation to the car park and the five-a-side facilities and training areas.

These will all have been completed and resolved by when the official handover will take place with Council Dignitaries, contractors McAlpine and Carlton Town committee members all being present.

Carlton Town's Under 13's will then play Lowdham Colts Under 13's (who are sponsored by McAlpines) in an hour long game on the new pitch following a buffet reception and presentation in the refurbished clubhouse.

A trophy will be presented to the winning team to bring to a close a traumatic four months for the club that will hopefully end in smiles and a job well done.

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton commented: "It's been the clubs worst preseason both on and off the pitch but we can finally move on.

"The official handover should bring closure and hopefully satisfaction to both parties and I'm looking forward to what will be a special evening as we once more take control of our own destiny and attempt to move forward once again."
