Jepson Snr Takes Over From Jepson Jnr

13th February, 2007

James Jepson has stood down as temporary manager of Gedling Town - with his dad Paul taking over.

Player-manager Jepson was running first team affairs with Devon White as his assistant but suffered a cruciate ligament injury against Borrowash Vics.

Now he has decided to step down due to work commitments and pending surgery on his knee that will leave him on crutches for weeks.

His dad Paul, who won the Notts Senior Cup as a player for Basford and is a former manager of Wollaton, will take charge with White.

James said: "I enjoyed my time in charge and it was a good opportunity.

"I enjoyed it but with work and the operation I cannot fulfil the commitments needed.

"I am still a Gedling player and although injured, I will be down to watch as much as I can and support the team and then once I am fit, I will take it from there.

"My dad Paul will take over with Devon White and I am sure they will do a great job.

"My dad has won things as a player and manager in the local game and will make a great team with Devon."
