9th February, 2014
Tadcaster Albion returned to the top of the Premier Division table whilst Division One leaders Bottesford Town increased their lead at the summit on another rain-affected day of Toolstation NCEL action on Saturday.
Tadcaster were 4-1 home winners over Garforth Town in one of only four top-flight matches to have survived the wet weather to leapfrog over Barton Town Old Boys into first spot.
CJ Lyle had put the visitors ahead in the opening minute before the Brewers were 3-1 up by the break, thanks to goals from Jamie Williamson, Danny Critchlow and Terry Taylor, before Carl Stewart added the fourth in the match's final moments.
There were defeats for two of the top seven sides as Retford United were beaten 2-1 at Pickering Town and Albion Sports lost 3-2 at home to Maltby Main.
Joe Danby and Lewis Taylor struck in the opening period for Pickering before Richard Medcalf got a 72nd minute consolation for Retford.
And, Maltby let a two-goal lead slip at Sports but Michael Cuckson put them back ahead to claim all three points midway through the second half.
Lincoln Moorlands Railway remain at the foot of the table after their 2-0 home loss to Winterton Rangers whose goals from Ray Edmondson and Declan Marshall proved a big boost in their own survival bid.
Bottesford are now six points clear at the top of Division One after they saw off their visitors, second-placed Cleethorpes Town, 3-0, with a Danny Boulton brace added to late on by Craig Bridge.
Shaw Lane Aquaforce stay third after they were beaten 1-0 at Dinnington Town, Thomas Elliott with the goal on 26 minutes that moved the hosts out of the bottom three whilst Aquaforce announced after the match that manager Simon Houghton had left the club following four defeats in their last six games.
Shirebrook Town, who parted company with their boss, Kevin Gee, in midweek, won 4-1 at home to Hemsworth Miners Welfare to climb up into sixth spot.
New management team Mark Camm and Danny Bacon saw Craig Getliff and Grant Ryan give them a two-goal cushion by the break before Reece Twell and Steve Wankiewicz made sure of the win in the second period.
Shirebrook go above Clipstone who drew 2-2 at AFC Emley with the home side snatching a point in injury time through Ryan Pleasants' equaliser.
Louth Town stay bottom despite picking up a point in a 1-1 home draw with Yorkshire Amateur with the side just above them, Appleby Frodingham, losing 5-1 at home to Hall Road Rangers.
And, Rossington Main were 2-0 victors at Knaresborough Town, courtesy of second half goals from Shaun Pendleton and Lee Holmes.
