Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2013/14 #47
26th January, 2014
Only six of Saturday's matches in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League survived the torrential rain suffered over the last few days.
Second placed Tadcaster Albion moved to within a point of Premier Division leaders Barton Town Old Boys as they won 6-0 at home to struggling Winterton Rangers.
Danny Critchlow game them a single goal lead in the first half before Callum Ward struck a hat-trick and Carl Stewart and Denny Ingram also found the net after the interval to claim all three points for the Brewers.
Basford United remain seven points behind Tadcaster in third spot as they won 7-0 against their next-to-bottom visitors, Lincoln Moorlands Railway.
Martin Carruthers, Greg Simmons and Fabian Smith had them three-up by the break and the hosts continued their dominance with Tyeisse Nightingale making it four on the hour and then three quickfire goals in the last quarter-of-an-hour - Nightingale with a penalty, Carruthers with his second and a strike from Henoc Isamene - completed the scoring.
And, Josh Greening struck twice for Pickering Town as they defeated Worksop Parramore, 3-1, at Mill Lane, Jamie Patterson with the Pikes' other goal whilst Ryan Johnson got on the scoresheet for the away side.
Bottesford Town climbed to the top of the Division One table after a comprehensive 4-0 victory at sixth-placed Shirebrook Town.
A Terry Barwick penalty was added to by goals from Nathan Watson and Mike Thompson in the first period and their fourth came from Danny Boulton with fourteen minutes remaining.
Bottesford replaced Shaw Lane Aquaforce at the summit after they were beaten 3-2 at AFC Emley despite taking a two goal lead in the opening half-hour with an Ashley Flynn brace.
Sylbert Stewart started the comeback on 69 minutes and then added the second before Doran Jordan got the dramatic winner as the game went towards stoppage time.
And, Byron Littlefair scored directly from a corner to put hosts Knaresborough Town ahead on 39 minutes at home to Hemsworth Miners Welfare but Nicholas Guest and Nash Connolly scored in the second half to give the visitors the win and move them out of the bottom five.
