Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2013/14 #42
9th January, 2014
Eccleshill United, Brighouse Town and Worksop Parramore are all through to the Third Round of the Toolstation NCEL League Cup after 3-1 victories in midweek.
Eccleshill started the ball rolling on Monday night as they came from behind with goals from Ishmeal Mills, Adam McCabe and Aaron Sanchez netting for the Eagles in the last twenty minutes at Albion Sports.
And then, on Tuesday, Brighouse also left it late with Joe Jagger and Ryan Hall securing their victory at Basford United in the final quarter-of-an-hour whilst a Lee Whittington hat-trick saw Parramore progress at the expense of visitors Barton Town Old Boys.
Bottesford Town moved into the Semi-Finals of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy, winning 5-4 on penalties at Lincoln United after the match finished 1-1 after ninety minutes.
But, Long Eaton United bowed out of the Derbyshire Senior Cup as they were beaten 7-0 by a strong Chesterfield side at the Proact Stadium in their Third Round clash.
A Reece Thompson hat-trick helped Retford United to a 5-0 home victory over Lincoln Moorlands Railways to move the Badgers up into the top four in the Premier Division.
But, the league game at Inkersall Road between Staveley Miners Welfare and Winterton Rangers on Wednesday was abandoned after 81 minutes with the home side leading 5-3.
