Sheffield's lead at the summit of the Premier Division has grown to thirteen points as they were the only side in the top three at the start of play on Saturday who won.

But, Dave McCarthy's side had to come from 2-0 down at home to Long Eaton United to claim the points, although it was ultimately a comfortable 5-2 victory.

Aidan Brady and Michael Allsop had looked to have caused the upset before Sheffield finally found their form and drew level just after the half-hour mark thanks to a Chris Dolby brace.

Second-half strikes from Gary Townsend, David Wilkins and Matt Roney then made the game safe for the leaders.

Their closest rivals Maltby Main were beaten by an injury time goal at Sutton Town who moved up to tenth with the priceless victory, Phil Bignall with the only strike of the game.

And, Mickleover Sports, who were in third, were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Glapwell.

The Hall Corner side made it nine unbeaten with two goals from Ian Brown and a late strike by Marc Sherlock but they stay sixth.

Retford United moved up into second with a 3-0 home win over Hallam.

Ben Chambers, Steve Woolley and Oliver Chappell found the net for the Badgers.

Garforth Town remain fifth after a 3-3 draw at home to Liversedge.

Richard Carrick had put Simon Clifford's side ahead early on but they found themselves 3-1 down with twenty minutes to go as Joe Hewitt scored twice and Ryan Buckley got the third for Sedge.

But, Garforth showed great fighting spirit to claim the point, Jason St Juste and Bret Renshaw with the late goals.

At the foot of the table, Brodsworth Welfare are now five points adrift after they lost 4-1 at home to Arnold Town.

One each from Nick Hall and Andrew Haskins, and a brace from Lee Sutton, claimed an easy win for the Eagles with a Brady Roberts penalty being Welfare's only consolation.

Shirebrook Town pulled away from Brodsworth with their second win in a row, a 2-1 victory at home to Carlton Town.

But, they remain in nineteenth as Thackley, the side above them, also claimed three points with a 3-2 home win against Selby Town, a Dean Walters double helping them on their way to the triumph.

And, Armthorpe Welfare leapfrogged over visitors Glasshoughton Welfare into sixteenth after beating them 2-1.

Parkgate's lead at the top of Division One has now reached double figures after a 3-1 win at Gedling Town.

That is after Winterton Rangers were surprisingly beaten 2-1 at mid-table Pontefract Collieries.

Chris Shaw had put Ponte ahead before Andy Catton levelled matters before half-time but Kevin Duckworth grabbed the winner in the second period.

And, South Normanton Athletic, who were third, lost 3-0 at AFC Emley with the hosts finding goals from Adam Day, Wayne James and Allan Laud.

But, the end of the game was marred by a melee that saw three players sent off, one from AFC Emley and two from the visitors.

Nostell Miners Welfare have moved above South Normaton into third with an excellent 4-1 win at Hall Road Rangers.

Craig Stephens grabbed two whilst Ben Gilbert and Mark Atkinson added to the tally for the away side.

And, Lincoln Moorlands 3-1 home win over Staveley Miners Welfare means there's only a two point gap between second and fifth as the chase heats up for promotion places.

The biggest win of the day came at Bracken Edge but it was the visitors, Dinnington Town, who dished it out as they beat hosts Yorkshire Amateur 6-0.

Rob Ward grabbed a hat-trick as the three points move Dinnington up to ninth in the table whilst the home side remain next-to-bottom.

The gap, though, between the Ams and basement outfit Rossington Main remains nine points after Main were beaten 3-0 at home by Tadcaster Albion who move up into the top six with the victory.
