Barclays Premier League match official Bobby Madley returned to his Toolstation NCEL roots at the weekend to take charge of one of Saturday's Division One games.Madley, who began officiating in our league, is on this season's Select Group of Referees and had a free Saturday as he was Fourth Official in the Sunday game between Norwich City and Chelsea at Carrow Road.
The 27-year-old from Wakefield, who is one of the youngest officials to progress to the top flight of English football, agreed to help our competition out and took his whistle to Barnsley to be the man-in-the-middle for the clash between Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Pontefract Collieries.
The match finished 1-1 with Bobby awarding the Colls a 36th minute penalty which was dispatched by Brenton Leister before Ashley Flynn levelled for the Division One leaders early in the second period.
The NCEL would like to thank Bobby for stepping in to help and wish him all the best for the rest of the Premier League campaign.
