NCEL Boxing Day Preview

24th December, 2006

The second NCEL Derby Boxing Day, in which as many local rivals as possible are pitched against each other, has resulted in some crackers for Christmas in the Premier Division.

Without doubt, the biggest game is at Sandygate where third-placed Hallam host leaders Sheffield knowing victory is a must to cut the gap with the table-toppers to five points.

That game kicks off at midday on a day where there are seven early starts.

The earliest is at Hall Corner where Glapwell begin their game with Shirebrook Town at 11am.

There is an 11.30 start for the match at Muglet Lane where fifth-placed Maltby Main entertain Liversedge.

Other matches kicking-off at noon are Arnold Town's clash with vistors Carlton Town, Mickleover Sports' trip to Sutton Town and Thackley at home to Eccleshill United.

The basement battle between Armthorpe Welfare and Brodsworth Welfare begins at 1pm whilst the remaining three matches start at the usual time of three o'clock.

That includes second-placed Retford United who go to Long Eaton United, whilst Glasshoughton Welfare entertain Garforth Town and Selby Town host Pickering Town.
