NCEL Weekend Preview

2nd November, 2006

There is a full programme of league action with only AFC Emley without a game this Saturday.

The top two sides in the Premier Division are on their travels as league leaders Maltby Main go to Arnold Town.

It is an early start at Gedling Road with the match kicking off at 1.15pm due to a fireworks event in the evening.

Sheffield, who missed out on a chance to go top in midweek, will be looking to make amends but have a tough trip to ninth-placed Glapwell.

Pickering Town, who are third, will be hoping the sides above them trip up away from home.

But, they have a difficult tie on their own patch as they host Carlton Town, the side that denied Sheffield a place at the summit on Tuesday.

Fourth-placed Selby Town are at mid-table Mickleover Sports whilst the team just below them, Liversedge, are at home to struggling Thackley.

Their visitors are one of three bottom sides, all of whom are looking for an away victory this weekend to kick start their season.

Basement side Shirebrook Town go to Garforth Town whilst Brodsworth Welfare travel to North Nottinghamshire to face Retford United.

In the other games in the Premier Division, Sutton Town go to Armthorpe Welfare, Eccleshill United are at Glasshoughton Welfare and Hallam entertain Long Eaton United.

In Division One, the game of the day takes place at Park Road where fourth-placed Worsbrough Bridge host top side Parkgate.

The only unbeaten side in the league, Winterton Rangers who are second, go to Lincoln Moorlands in an intriguing encounter.

That game kicks off at 2pm, also because of a firework display at the ground.

Third-placed Nostell Miners Welfare will be keen to show last week's defeat to Parkgate was just a blip as they take on fellow promoted side Dinnington Town at home.

Gedling Town and Tadcaster Albion will hope to move within one point of the leaders with victory at home to Yorkshire Amateur and away at Staveley Miners Welfare, respectively.

With the bottom side AFC Emley without a game, it is a massive day for the two teams just above them who meet each other at the Robinson Construction Bowl.

Borrowash Victoria entertain Rossington Main with both sides desperate for the points.

Thirteenth-placed Teversal go to the team above them Hall Road Rangers and it is tenth versus eleventh at Lees Lane where South Normanton Athletic host Pontefract Collieries.
