The weekend's KoolSport NCEL Premier Division match at Armthorpe Welfare is off after vandals wrecked their Church Street ground.

Welfare were due to play Winterton Rangers on Saturday 27th December but discovered this morning that their ground had been targetted overnight.

Boundary walls were knocked down, the stand was structurally damaged and there is rubble all over the pitch.

Local authority representatives have visited and said that repairs cannot be made until after the Christmas break.

So, Saturday's game has had to be postponed on health and safety grounds.

A new date for the fixture will be arranged in due course.
