A dramatic winner two minutes from time saw Bridlington Town climb to second in the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division.

The Seasiders are now eight points behind Mickleover Sports who did not play with seven games remaining.

Phil Harrison grabbed them the three points in a 3-2 victory at Pickering Town by scoring directly from a corner.

Brid had twice come from behind earlier in the game with Chibuzor Chilaka grabbing both of those goals.

His first came immediately after Lee Pallender had opened the scoring on ten minutes and then he levelled matters again in the second half after Liam Salt's strike.

It gave Bridlington their sixth successive victory whilst it was Pickering's eighth consecutive defeat, a run that has seen the Pikes drop to seventh in the table.

Bridlington go above Selby Town whose title aspirations took a knock with a 2-1 defeat at Nostell Miners Welfare.

Sean Gorman had put them ahead on 51 minutes but Craig Stephens equalised on the hour and Matthew Denton claimed the hosts' winner in the last quarter-of-an-hour.

Long Eaton United are now a point behind Selby in fourth after they won 4-1 at home to Thackley.

They were three-up by the 25th minute thanks to goals from Jamie Eaton, Paolo Piliero and Kevin Mabon.

Mabon then added his second and Long Eaton's fourth soon after the interval and Nicky Boshell claimed a late consolation for the visitors.

Eccleshill United are back in last place having lost 6-0 at home to Lincoln Moorlands Railway, the side who were twentieth at the start of play.

Ben Garrick got a hat-trick for Railway whilst Scott Coupland, Luke Boyce and Simon Clifford made it a glorious afternoon for the visitors and a thoroughly miserable one for their hosts.

Brodsworth Welfare stay looking nervously over their shoulder at the trapdoor after their 2-1 loss at home to Shirebrook Town.

Daniel Payne scored just before the hour mark for the only goal of the game in Parkgate's win at home to Armthorpe Welfare.

And, Maltby Main won 2-0 Winterton Rangers with Gary Hibbert and Neil Longhurst scoring in each half.

Scarborough Athletic may have secured promotion and the Division One title but there was no sign of letting up on the opposition as they cantered to a 6-0 win at home to Yorkshire Amateur.

Rob Hoyle opened the scoring on 41 minutes from the penalty spot before the game turned completely in the Seadogs' favour after half-time.

The chase for second place took another turn as the current occupants, Askern Villa, dropped points.

But, Villa rescued a point with a Mark Vickerage penalty twenty minutes from time.

Rainworth took full advantage with a 4-2 victory at home to Leeds Carnegie.

Ant Lynam broke the deadlock on thirteen minutes only for Leeds to level matters seven minutes later through Chris Thackray.

But, after that, it was all Rainworth as Lynam completed his hat-trick and Brendan Sweeney also got on the scoresheet to make it 4-1 before a late consolation from Kyle Hawthorne.

The Wrens, who are third, are now six points behind Villa with two games in hand and a superior goal difference in a chase that is sure to go down to the wire.

AFC Emley are ten points behind Rainworth in fourth place despite a fine 4-2 win at home to Teversal.

But, they were 2-0 down in the opening fifteen minutes with Dave Cockerill and Michael Lyall seemingly putting the visitors on the way to an easy victory.

It stayed that way until the 50th minute when Andy Farrell struck twice before the hour mark and, in the final quarter of the game, Steven Kenworthy and Oliver Banks made sure of a complete turnaround in fortune.

And, Staveley Miners Welfare's remarkable run of form continued with a 2-0 win at Barton Town Old Boys to replace their opposition in fifth place.

Both goals came in a two minute spell around the hour mark with a Lee Gregory penalty quickly followed up by a Jamie Smith strike.

Staveley have now won their last six and are unbeaten in seventeen matches but their run has seemingly come too late to press for promotion.

There were goals aplenty in the final two Division One games.

Craig Wilkinson struck twice to claim a point for Worsbrough Bridge Athletic in a 3-3 draw at Appleby Frodingham.

And, Bottesford Town snatched a 3-2 victory at Grimsby Borough, courtesy of a winner from the penalty spot three minutes from time.

Craig Mitchell converted it as the visitors came from behind in the final ten minutes.
