Dozen Confirmed for Presidents Cup
19th April, 2009
Twelve teams have been confirmed as participants in the KoolSport NCEL Presidents Cup for the 2009/10 campaign.
The top eight from each division take part in the next season's tournament.
And, with the Premier Division champions going up into the UniBond League, those who finish between second and ninth will make up the top flight's contingent.
Four Premier Division sides are confirmed as taking part - Arnold Town, Bridlington Town, Dinnington Town and Thackley - as none of those can go up or drop out of the top nine.
The top eight in Division One can now no longer be caught so the teams occupying those spots - AFC Emley, Askern Villa, Barton Town Old Boys, Bottesford Town, Leeds Carnegie, Rainworth Miners Welfare, Scarborough Athletic and Staveley Miners Welfare - will all be involved.
Seven sides are down as "maybes" for the competition with two out of the three chasing the Premier Division title - Long Eaton United, Mickleover Sports and Selby Town - set to be involved.
And, there are four Premier Division sides who are fighting for the two remaining places: Hallam, Nostell Miners Welfare, Pickering Town and Winterton Rangers.
