Simon Harris has stepped down as chairman of Grimsby Borough and the Toolstation NCEL Division One side are now looking to appoint his successor.In a statement, he said: "It is with sad regret that I have tendered my resignation to Grimsby Borough FC. This has been done with a heavy heart.
"The reasons for my decision are purely personal and I wish the club and all its members all the best for the future."
The club say that it was with "great sadness" that they had to announce his departure and that they "wish him well with whatever he decides to do."
Borough are now looking for a new chairman as well as personnel to fill other roles at the club.
The Wilderness Boys have just completed their first friendly of the season with a 0-0 draw against a Leeds United side in front of a good attendance at their Bradley home on Sunday.
Further friendlies against top sides have been secured starting with Goole AFC on Saturday and Gainsborough Trinity on Monday.
