Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2014/15 #72
30th April, 2015
Congratulations to Shaw Lane Aquaforce who clinched the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title on Tuesday night.
The Ducks knew that a victory at home to Cleethorpes Town would guarantee them the trophy and, after a 3-1 triumph, they now look set to move up into the Evo-Stik League following back-to-back promotions through our league.
They made sure they wrapped up the championship as soon as possible with Danny Frost opening the scoring on nineteen minutes whilst Lee Morris and Andrew Fox gave them a healthy cushion by the interval.
Brody Robertson scored in second-half stoppage time for a consolation for the visitors but, by then, the celebrations had begun for Craig Elliot's men.
Tadcaster Albion climbed above Cleethorpes into third spot after a 4-2 win at Nostell Miners Welfare and they next host Worksop Town in the final round of matches on Saturday to see whether they or the Tigers will finish as runners-up.
Nostell took the lead on seven minutes through Stephen Wales but parity was quickly restored through George Bissett and Tom Claisse put the Brewers ahead just before half-time.
Wales got his and the home side's second to level things again but Denny Ingram and Callum Ward struck in the last twenty minutes to ensure victory for the visitors.
There were two games in Division One with the Tuesday match seeing six goals shared between Teversal and Grimsby Borough at Carnarvon Street.
James McCann struck twice for the home side whose place in Step 6 football next season was assured at the weekend and Oliver Hamilton also got a brace for Borough who complete the campaign at the bottom of the table.
And, Brad Kerr's double helped Worsbrough Bridge Athletic to a 5-1 victory at Dronfield Town on Wednesday night, meaning his side will end the season in sixteenth spot.
