Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2014/15 #36
11th December, 2014
Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders Tadcaster Albion suffered their first defeat in fourteen matches in all competitions in midweek as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Cleethorpes Town.
A triple salvo in five second half minutes - a Louis Grant opener, an own goal from Denny Ingram and a third from Marc Cooper - saw the visitors pick up all three points to move them up into sixth spot.
In Division One, Bottesford Town closed the gap on the top three as Chris McDonald, Craig Bridge and Danny Boulton netted in a 3-1 home victory over Hall Road Rangers.
AFC Mansfield climbed up to seventh after winning by the same scoreline at home to fifth placed Pontefract Collieries, Craig Mitchell getting two of the Bulls' goals.
And, Dan Barnsley's last minute equaliser saw next-to-bottom Dronfield Town take a point in a 1-1 draw at Selby Town.
There was disappointment for Heanor Town and Hemsworth Miners Welfare in their respective County Cup matches.
Kieran Wells scored for Heanor but they were beaten 3-1 at home by Ilkeston in the Third Round of the Derbyshire Senior Cup and, in the Quarter-Finals of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup, Hemsworth were defeated by a single goal at Frickley Athletic.
But, there was better news in that competition for Handsworth Parramore who won 7-0 at Swallownest Miners Welfare, Lee Whittington and Sam Smith amongst the scorers with two each.
