Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2014/15 #33

30th November, 2014

Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders Tadcaster Albion will be much the happier side as the spoils were shared in their top three clash on Saturday.

The Brewers, who had to play virtually the whole game with ten men due to early sending off of Jonathan Greening, came from 2-0 down at Worksop Town to claim a point in a 2-2 draw.

The home side looked to be making their man advantage count when Matt Booth and Tom Elliott struck in the opening 26 minutes but Josh Greening gave Tadcaster hope on the hour mark and the visitors, who never gave up, were rewarded with an equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time through Andrew Milne.

Their lead at the top, however, has been cut to seven points as Shaw Lane Aquaforce notched up the league's biggest victory of the season as they thrashed bottom side Glasshoughton Welfare, 12-0, at Leeds Road.

James Eyles scored five to move to the top of the Premier Division scoring charts with twenty goals in all competitions whilst Lee Morriss and Joe Thornton got a brace each as the hosts fell to their fifth successive defeat.

Fourth-placed Heanor Town took the lead in the eight minute at home to Barton Town Old Boys through Gary Ricketts but the visitors, through goals from Scott Phillips and Ashley Lattimore, earned the points in a 2-1 victory.

Staveley Miners Welfare closed the gap in fifth spot with their eighth win in a row, 3-2 at Cleethorpes Town, Jahmal Smith's winner coming four minutes from time.

Armthorpe Welfare were the only side in the bottom four to pick up a point and they thought they were going to get all three when Jay Rollins gave them an 88th minute 2-1 lead at home to Garforth Town but there was still time for Sinmi Oyebanji to grab a late leveller.

The side just above Armthorpe, Retford United, went down to a 3-1 defeat to visitors Handsworth Parramore, Lee Whittington getting two of the away team's goals.

Ombeni Ruhanduka got both of Bridlington Town's goals in their 2-1 home win over Thackley whilst Maltby Main beat hosts Parkgate by the same scoreline and Albion Sports are up to eighth after two goals from Alex Cusack helped them to a 4-1 victory at home to Pickering Town.

It is as-you-were in Division One at the top of the table with the leading four sides all winning so AFC Emley remain three points clear at the summit after Kurtis Noble's 41st minute strike secured a 1-0 win at Hallam.

A second half brace from Josh Gibson saw second placed Clipstone triumph 3-1 at local rivals Shirebrook Town whilst Hemsworth Miners Welfare remain third after Dominic Blair's 80th minute winner as they overcame visitors Winterton Rangers, 2-1.

Pontefract Collieries were 2-1 home winners over Penistone Church, thanks to a Mark Whitehouse double, and they are fourth ahead of Yorkshire Amateur who climb to fifth after their 2-1 victory at Teversal, Joel Hughes with the 69th minute winner.

Eccleshill United are up into sixth as they overwhelmed Lincoln Moorlands Railway, 9-0, at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium with two each for Charlie Flaherty and Josh Rosenstrauch meaning Railway have now lost their last eleven league matches.

There were hat-tricks for Colin Heath in Knaresborough Town's 6-0 win at Hall Road Rangers and for Craig Bridge whose Bottesford Town side triumphed 3-0 at Selby Town.

And, four goals were shared at Oxford Street between Rossington Main and AFC Mansfield.
