Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2014/15 #2
14th August, 2014
Heanor Town and Worksop Town are the early pacesetters in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after they both made it two wins out of two in midweek.
Heanor top the table narrowly on goal difference after a late Robert Hawkes own goal saw them claim a 2-1 home win over Pickering Town.
Tony Hackworth had put the Pikes ahead on six minutes before Sam Jones levelled near the hour mark for the hosts.
Just shy of 500 people watched Worksop win 5-3 against visitors Liversedge with Andre Johnson's hat-trick helping them to the victory.
His first came on two minutes and Luke Shiels doubled their advantage before they were pegged back by a quick reply from Tom Jackson and then Andrew Wood's strike on 57 minutes.
A Jake Scott penalty restored the Tigers' lead, Johnson got his second and Kieran Corley then netted for Sedge to make it 4-3 but Johnson made sure of the points in injury time.
Thackley and Handsworth Parramore are on four points from their opening two games after they drew 1-1 at Dennyfield, Sam Smith putting the Amber Parras ahead on 50 minutes with Mike Garrod's equaliser coming soon after.
They are fifth and third, respectively, sandwiching Garforth Town who looked to be getting all three points at Retford United through Glenn Wood's first half strike but Liam Wilkin converted a stoppage time penalty to claim a 1-1 draw for the Badgers.
A brace each for Callum Ward and Josh Greening secured Tadcaster Albion a 4-2 home victory over Nostell Miners Welfare, there were also two goals for Craig Fletcher as Parkgate won 2-1 against Armthorpe Welfare at Green Lane and for Del Pollock as Glasshoughton Welfare prevailed 3-2 at Maltby Main.
And, a last gasp penalty for Alex Cusack saw Albion Sports snatch a single-goal victory at Cleethorpes Town.
Three sides are on six points in Division One with AFC Emley ahead of Knaresborough Town and Clipstone on goal difference.
Doran Jordan struck twice and Jordan Townend also found the net as Emley won 3-1 at home to Bottesford Town, all their goals coming in the first half.
Knaresborough were 4-1 victors at Teversal, Nick Radcliffe's first half opener added to after the interval by two from Colin Heath and an injury time fourth from James Bradley.
Clipstone came from behind to win 2-1 at Yorkshire Amateur, Richard Mintoff and Stuart Hill getting on the scoresheet for the Cobras.
A hat-trick from Lee Holmes helped Rossington Main to a 6-1 victory at Winterton Rangers who, along with Eccleshill United, sit at the bottom of the table after losing their first two games.
Eccleshill went down to a Luke Thompson goal in a 1-0 defeat at Hall Road Rangers whilst the spoils were shared between Shirebrook Town and Pontefract Collieries in a 1-1 draw at Langwith Road.
