Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2016/17 #54

16th February, 2017

Pickering Town became the second Toolstation NCEL team this season to reach a County Cup final in midweek.

They won 1-0 at home to former league rivals Scarborough Athletic in the Semi-Finals of the North Riding Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Nathan Kamara claimed the vital strike for the Pikes against their Evo-Stik League visitors fourteen minutes from the end.

Pickering will take on either Whitby Town or Middlesbrough U23s/Res for the trophy that they lifted in 2013.

There was only one other game that took place as floodlight failure prevented the start of Bridlington Town's Premier Division clash at home to Harrogate Railway Athletic whilst heavy rain put paid to Teversal's Notts Senior Cup Semi-Final trip to Carlton Town.

AFC Mansfield made it six wins in a row - five in the league - with a 2-1 victory at Albion Sports to lift themselves up into eighth in the Premier Division.

Oliver Fearon put the Bulls ahead on nineteen minutes but Daniel Facey restored parity late on before Fearon got his and Mansfield's second in stoppage time to take all three points.
