Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2016/17 #18

Most of the midweek action saw Toolstation NCEL sides make their debut this season in their respective County Cups whilst there were also games in the League Cup, Premier Division and Division One.
The biggest winners in the First Round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup were Penistone Church who were 10-0 home victors over Phoenix, with two goals each for Brett Lovell, Daniel Joynes, Dale Kelly and Lewis Dickinson after Luke Johnson and Jack Moore had netted in the opening period.
There was a double for Jordan Snodin as Maltby Main overcame visitors Denaby United, 6-0, and there was also a 4-1 home win for Athersley Recreation over Wombwell Main with a brace for Jack Briscoe and Kai Hancock.
Nostell Miners Welfare beat Harworth Colliery Institute, 6-1, at the Crofton Community Centre with Connah Judson and Antony Brown sharing four of their goals whilst Hemsworth Miners Welfare won the all-Premier Division tie, Bill Law with the only goal of the game at home to Parkgate.
Meanwhile, there were 3-1 defeats for Worsbrough Bridge Athletic at the hands of Frecheville CA and for Worksop Town at home to Sheffield.
The West Riding County Cup also got underway with three sides losing to higher-ranked opposition as Liversedge bowed out 3-2 at Farsley Celtic, Garforth Town were beaten 5-0 at home by Brighouse Town and Eccleshill United went down 5-1 to visitors Ossett Town.
Yorkshire Amateur progressed by defeating fellow Division One hosts Pontefract Collieries, 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out, after it ended 1-1 with T'nique Fishley's opener for the visitors cancelled out late on by Christoper Jackson.
Rainworth Miners Welfare became the latest side to reach the Fourth Round of the League Cup with a 7-3 home win over Bottesford Town, Aaron Moxam with four of the Wrens' goals to take his season's tally to seventeen whilst there was a double for Martin Pembleton for the away side.
A chance was missed by third-placed Thackley to go top of the Premier Division as Matthew Turnbull and Nathan Kamara netted for visitors Pickering Town in a 2-0 victory to move the Pikes up into sixth spot.
Handsworth Parramore stay seventh after their 1-1 draw at Barton Town Old Boys, Daniel Holland cancelling out the home side's breakthrough goal by Joshua Tennant.
A hat-trick for Joel Sutton and a couple from Andrew Norfolk helped Bridlington Town to an 8-0 win at home to Retford United and the Seasiders climb up to tenth whilst Harrogate Railway Athletic are out of the bottom three after Stephen Bromley and Brandon Dean scored in their 2-1 victory at basement side Armthorpe Welfare.
In Division One, Grimsby Borough are now sixth following their 7-2 defeat of visitors Brigg Town with William Peers converting two penalties and Jack Debnam also grabbing a brace for the hosts.
AFC Emley move up to seventh following their 4-0 win at home to Rossington Main whilst Westella & Willerby climb up off the foot of the table with a 3-0 triumph over away side Shirebrook Town who drop into the bottom two.
And, it was goalless between Glasshoughton Welfare and Selby Town who are twelfth and eleventh, respectively.
