Management team extend Maltby stay
24th April, 2016
Maltby Main have secured the services of joint managers Spencer Fearn and Mark Askwith as well as coach John Stancliffe for a further year.
This season has seen a transformation in the fortunes of Main with them achieving their highest league finish for almost two decades and achieving their best run in the FA Vase for 22 years.
Under their stewardship, the structure of the club is set to improve further with an under 21s side led by Andy King starting in the summer and the link up with the North of East England Academy starts imminently for scholars who will play in the Conference Youth Alliance and FA Youth Cup.
Chairman Wilf Race stated: "We are delighted that our management team have extended their services for a further year.
"Under their guidance, the club has grown immensely and they are to be commended for their dedication and loyalty which has seen results improve beyond all expectations. I cannot thank them enough for the superb contribution they have made this season.
"We are absolutely thrilled that this exciting and very ambitious trio have committed themselves to the club for a further year. We are sure that our upward journey will see the club continue to flourish under their leadership."
Joint manager Spencer Fearn added: "The three of us are delighted to commit to Wilf and the club for at least another year.
"We have made great progress and are looking forward to improving not just the first team, but the structure of the club overall.
"The support we get from our chairman and committee is first class, we have a great group of players and we are all enjoying our football.
"It was really a one minute conversation when we were asked to renew."
