Barrett and Liddle become permanent bosses
22nd May, 2016
Grimsby Borough have announced the permanent appointment of Danny Barrett and Andy Liddle as joint managers of the first team with the search now on to find an assistant boss/coach to join them.
The Toolstation NCEL Division One side have set high targets for the upcoming campaign and it was decided that former Boston manager Danny Barrett and ex-Cleethorpes Town boss Andy Liddle had done enough to impress the committee in their spell last season.
The duo took over managerial duties in February following the departure of Paul Walden and took a tough start with two consecutive defeats with a lack of players available.
However, they made a few signings and went five games (in normal time) unbeaten including an away victory against Shirebrook Town and a point at Hallam who were both fighting to make the play-offs.
They also took the now-promoted Premier Division champions Tadcaster Albion to extra-time where they were just beaten 2-1 by the eventual runners-up of the League Cup.
The pair are looking for an assistant manager/coach and are inviting applications for the role.
Experience is essential in both aspects with badges preferred but not essential.
Anyone interested is asked to forward their CV to dan.barrett@gbagroup.com by Tuesday 31st May, 2016.
