Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2015/16 #16

1st October, 2015

There were plenty of goals in what was an entertaining midweek of matches in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division and Division One.

Handsworth Parramore closed to within touching distance of the top two in the Premier Division with a 6-3 home victory over Albion Sports, Jon Froggatt and Richard Adams getting a couple of goals each for the third-placed side.

Garforth Town moved up to fourth but are six points behind Parramore after they won 6-1 at Liversedge including a first half brace from Mark Simpson and one in the second period from Curtly Martin-Wyatt.

Clipstone went one better as they beat visitors Retford United, 7-0, to climb into seventh, Alec Denton taking home the matchball following his hat-trick.

And, Cleethorpes Town are now in eighth due to their 5-2 victory at Maltby Main as Brody Robertson netted either side of the interval to put his side in control.

Jack Andrews and Liam Morris struck late on as Rainworth Miners Welfare came from behind to defeat hosts Parkgate, 2-1, and there was a 1-1 draw between Pickering Town and Thackley.

Division One leaders AFC Mansfield, though, took the top scorers prize as they won 12-2 at home to Lincoln Moorlands Railway to extend the gap at the top to four points, Dean Rick getting seven of the Bulls' goals to take his season's tally to sixteen.

Josh Tennant's hat-trick helped third-placed Hull United to a 5-0 victory at Teversal, Hallam are fourth after their 2-2 home draw with AFC Emley and Hemsworth Miners Welfare complete the top five as they triumphed 6-1 at home to Yorkshire Amateur.

Two goals each for Luke Harrop and Adam Turner saw Eccleshill United sneak to a 4-3 home win over Hall Road Rangers whilst Grimsby Borough moved up a place despite losing 4-0 at Westella VIP as they move above Moorlands out of the bottom two on goal difference.

Lewis Naylor got both of Dronfield Town's goals in their 2-1 win at home to Glasshoughton Welfare and there was a goalless draw for Penistone Church at Knaresborough Town.
