Stennett takes charge at South Leeds

4th September, 2026

Steve Stennett has been appointed as the new manager of Macron NCEL Division One side South Leeds.

A statement released by the club on Friday lunchtime said: "Steve joins us alongside his current role as academy manager and youth team coach at Emley AFC.

"Steve recently led his Emley U23s to back-to-back league titles - an achievement that highlights his ability to develop players, build a winning mentality and get the best out of a group.

"As a club, we feel now is the right time to go for a new approach and go out and give someone an opportunity at this level who is hungry to come in and bring something different to what we are used to and bring fresh ideas and help the team develop.

"We know we need some longevity in somebody now and results need to improve and we believe Steve is the right person to help us move forward, develop the team and ultimately get South Leeds competing where we believe we should be.

"Please join us in welcoming Steve to the club and we wish him every success in his new role."

Stennett takes over following Nathan Cartman's resignation at the end of August.

His first game in charge could not be any tougher as South Leeds, who are bottom of the Division One table, host leaders Brigg Town next Wednesday.
