Cooper and Simpson leave Crowle

12th August, 2026

Crowle Colts have announced that long-term manager Gav Cooper and his assistant Ben Simpson have left the Macron NCEL Division One club with immediate effect.

The news comes after their season started with four points picked up from their opening four games along with a First Round exit in the JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock.

A statement released by chairman Robbie Pender on Wednesday afternoon said: "On behalf of everyone connected with Crowle Colts, we would like to thank Gav and Ben for their time, commitment, and efforts during their involvement with the club.

"Particularly, their role in delivering back-to-back Lincolnshire County Cup successes and helping secure promotion to Step 6 of the National League System.

"Further updates regarding the managerial appointment process will be communicated in due course.

"In the meantime, the club remains fully focused on preparations for the season ahead and continuing to build on the strong foundations that have been established.

"We thank our players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for their continued backing during this period of transition."

The club later began their search for Cooper's successor, saying: "We are seeking an ambitious, committed and passionate individual to lead our first team in NCEL Division One, Step 6 of the National League System.

"This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of a progressive club and help shape our future.

"Interested applicants should submit a CV and covering letter outlining their suitability for the role to club chairman Robbie Pender at rjpender@hotmail.com.

"Application deadline: 5:00pm, Wednesday 19th August, 2026."
