Bottesford Town have returned to the top of the Macron NCEL Premier Division whilst Knaresborough Town and Rossington Main have progressed to the Third Round of the JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock.

They were just three of the matches that took place in a busy midweek that also saw County Cup action for two of our teams as well as a number of league games.

Knaresborough and Rossington were home victors in their Second Round ties as they dispatched Penistone Church and Route One Rovers, respectively.

Harry Coates and Benjamin Gelder were the first-half scorers for Knaresborough as they claimed a 2-0 win whilst Ross Hannah, Oscar Wainwright and Mason Warren got the goals for Main in their 3-0 victory.

Bottesford leapt back to the summit in the Premier Division as a Jack McMenemy brace, added to by one each from Mason Chaffer and Clayton Bryant, secured a 4-1 home win over Campion with Joseph Mitchell getting a consolation for the visitors.

Retford United stay in fourth after their 2-2 home draw with Handsworth after a brace for the Badgers by Lewis Chambers before the interval was cancelled out by quickfire strikes from Owen Haigh and Alfie Dodsworth at the start of the second period for the visiting Ambers.

Luke Brooks struck a five-minute hat-trick towards the end of Thackley’s home clash with Parkgate to ensure a 4-0 scoreline after Marcel Stephiewski had broken the deadlock.

And, there were also late goals for Cameron Blackburn, Souleymane Coulibaly and George Thewlis as Pickering Town stormed to a 3-0 win at Tadcaster Albion in the last eleven minutes.

Goole AFC have moved to within a point of leaders Brigg Town in the Division One table that has been re-adjusted following Doncaster City’s resignation from the league on Monday.

Declan Racher, Mackenzie Ross and Silas Valladolid-Collins were the scorers for the Vikings in their 3-0 home victory over Winterton Rangers.

And, South Leeds stay bottom as they went down 2-0 to hosts Kinsley Boys, Jock Curran and Lucas Stubbs netting towards each end of the encounter for a win that moves their side up to ninth.

In the First Round of the Notts Senior Cup, Iren Wilson and Scott Boden secured progression for Retford FC as they won 2-0 at home to Gedling Miners Welfare.

But, Armthorpe Welfare bowed out of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup at the Second Round stage as, despite goals from Finlay Harding and Alfie Charlotte, they were beaten 3-2 by a visiting Sheffield Wednesday U23 Development side.
