Three Macron NCEL sides confirmed their places in First Round Qualifying in the Emirates FA Cup whilst Dearne & District broke a long-standing league record in the weekend’s action.Tadcaster Albion produced the biggest shock in the FA Cup as they won 2-1 at home to Pitching In Northern Premier League side Stalybridge Celtic.
Oliver Green and Harry Green gave the Brewers the perfect start with goals in the opening eleven minutes and, although their visitors pulled one back in the final quarter-of-an-hour, they held on for an excellent victory.
Barton Town and
Knaresborough Town join Tadcaster at the next stage with Lewis Stephens’ strike and a Thomas Waudby penalty ensuring a 2-0 win for the former at Eastwood.
Knaresborough came from behind with goals from Jack Degruchy and Aaron White either side of half-time in their 2-1 home victory over Easington Colliery.
Two more sides have a second chance to progress after drawing 1-1 in their respective ties.
James Travis’ 51st-minute equaliser secured a replay for
Horbury Town at 1874 Northwich whilst Jack McMenemy struck in the last quarter as
Bottesford Town were held by visitors Bourne Town.
Sadly,
Campion are one of four sides who exit the competition, Ewan Gregson netting in their 2-1 loss at North Ferriby whilst
Parkgate bowed out with an 8-0 defeat at Pontefract Collieries.
Luke Brooks and Symeon Corion scored for
Thackley but they went down 3-2 at Vauxhall Motors and
Retford FC were beaten 1-0 at home by Northampton ON Chenecks.
In the weekend’s league action,
Dearne & District have moved up into second place in the Premier Division after their 7-2 win at
Handsworth.
Jordan Hines and Rion Arbouin twice put the hosting Ambers ahead, but Adam Baskerville and Owen Fieldsend ensured the scores were still level by the 33rd minute.
Curtis Wilkinson and Cian Guest gave Dearne a 4-2 advantage at the break that was built on in the second half with Wilkinson’s second and further goals from Daniel Burns and Jordan Kershaw.
That was Dearne’s 21st league victory in a row stretching back to their Division One title-winning run last season, beating the record previously held by Guiseley that has stood for over 35 years.
Penistone Church and
Retford United are up to fourth and fifth, respectively, following their victories.
Reece High struck twice and Harry Viggers also found the net for Church as they led 3-1 at the interval at home to
Frickley Athletic whose goal came from Joshua Dacre.
Charles Price added a second for the visitors in stoppage time, but Church ran out 3-2 winners.
The Badgers, meanwhile, beat hosts
Albion Sports 3-0 with Oliver Wilson, Ben Ashall and Carlton Carty getting on the scoresheet.
First-half strikes from Oliver Currie and Mackenzie Warne secured
Rossington Main a 2-1 win at
Keighley Town that lifts them to eighth whilst their hosts drop into the bottom two.
And, in Friday night’s game,
Pickering Town picked up their first points of the season as Nathan Dyer, Marshall Nock and Wayne Brooksby scored in a 3-1 home win over
Golcar United.
Brigg Town maintain their three-point lead at the top of Division One as Dayle Hutson’s 47th-minute strike claimed a 1-0 win at
Immingham Town, their fourth victory by that scoreline in their last five games.
Goole AFC remain on their coat tails in second, Callum Brooks and Ross Duggan with their goals as they came from behind to win 2-1 at
Club Thorne Colliery.
Danny Edwards, Jonathan Mwembie, Aidan Day and Kieron Batey were the scorers as
Field Olympic beat visitors
Route One Rovers 4-0 to climb into third.
They go above
Leeds UFCA who drew 0-0 at
South Leeds, one of two goalless games with the other ending in a stalemate between
Crowle Colts and their visitors
Appleby Frodingham.
Harry Clapham put
Selby Town ahead in the 27th minute but the Robins were held 1-1 at
Wakefield AFC, Ify Ofoegbu with a second-half equaliser, in one of two Friday night games.
The other saw hosts
Wombwell Town draw 2-2 with
Athersley Recreation, Alhassane Keita’s double for the home side cancelled out by goals from Billy Tebbutt and Kane Reece.
LIV beat visitors
Winterton Rangers 2-0 with James Nichols and Jake Harman finding the net to move their side up into seventh.
And, there was late drama to grab last-gasp 3-2 wins for
Harrogate Railway Athletic and
Kinsley Boys.
Charlie Lack struck for the Rail just when it looked like their home clash with
Ilkley Town was heading for a draw.
It was even more dramatic for Ilkley as they overturned a 2-1 deficit in stoppage time with Lucas Scubbs first netting an equalising penalty before popping up with the winner to sneak the win at
Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Meanwhile, in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup,
Doncaster City conceded first at Hall Green United in their First Round tie before they strolled to a 4-1 win, helped by a second half hat-trick from Benjamin Dyer.
