A 1-0 home win for Brigg Town over Hemsworth Miners Welfare on Wednesday night has seen the Zebras regain top spot in Macron NCEL Division One, 24 hours after they had been knocked off it by Goole AFC.Dayle Southwell’s penalty early in the second half ensured that Brigg leapfrogged back over the Vikings who won 3-2 at home to
Harrogate Railway Athletic on Tuesday to temporarily take pole position.
Taylor Nicholson and Ross Duggan gave them a 2-0 lead by the interval before Jack Mason halved their advantage in the 49th minute.
Duggan’s second put Goole further in control with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining although they had to weather a late comeback from the Rail when Harry Bandeira once again brought the visitors to within touching distance.
Leeds UFCA stay third after their 2-2 home draw with
LIV, Omar Sanyang’s double matched by a brace for Victory Ojei for the visitors, his second coming in stoppage time to dramatically grab a point.
Field Olympic’s quickfire double put them 2-0 up midway through the opening period at
Selby Town, Danny Edwards and Junayd Cassius-Gill with their goals.
But, Maximillian Bauer struck from the penalty spot for the hosting Robins in the 44th minute and Caden McGrath ensured the points were shared with a 2-2 draw that keeps Selby sixth, one position behind Olympic.
Route One Rovers are up into seventh following their 2-0 home win over
Wombwell Town, Reece Thompson and Zak Khan with their goals.
Adam Blakeley’s winner in the 65th minute has moved
Doncaster City into the top half of the table with a 2-1 victory at
South Leeds who remain without a point in their five matches so far.
Appleby Frodingham are also yet to get off the mark as their 3-1 home loss to
Athersley Recreation made it five defeats out of five.
