Boro Skipper Banned For Three Matches
22nd March, 2008
Scarborough Athletic captain Jamie Waltham will sit out their next three games after receiving a suspension from the East Riding FA.
Waltham played in a local league match for Barnham St Andrews under a different name whilst suspended from football following his red card in the Boro vs Emley game in January.
The discretion was spotted by league officials, who handed Waltham a further 21-day ban which means he misses Boro's upcoming games against Borrowash Victoria, Teversal and Dinnington Town.
Club officials have conducted an internal inquiry with the player and taken steps to ensure further disciplinary matters are adhered to.
Meanwhile, the Seadogs have been charged with misconduct by the North Riding FA following crowd disturbances at the match against AFC Emley in January.
The club were fined ?150 plus costs at the hearing in Leeds for the incident which occured at Queensgate.
One supporter was banned for the rest of the season following the incident and the club has reissued a call for all supporters to adhere to the Supporters' Behaviour Policy to avoid any further incidents.
The policy is printed in the club's match day programme.
