Seadogs Rocked As Hepples Is Jailed
15th January, 2008
Scarborough Athletic have been left shocked after one of their players was jailed for four months for breaching a supervision order.
The Scarborough Evening News reports that 25-year-old midfielder Gary Hepples was given the jail sentence when he appeared before Scarborough Magistrates' Court.
Hepples, who lives in Gildercliffe, was handed the 12-month order in September last year.
But he was accused of breaching the order, which involved carrying out community work, on two occasions.
One breach was said to have happened on November the 15th last year and the other was on December the 1st ? the day when he was playing for the Seadogs at Staveley Miners Welfare in a 3-0 win.
He had been due to appear in court last month but that hearing was adjourned to last week for him to appear in person.
