Rangers Tribute To Youngster
9th December, 2007
Hall Road Rangers bosses have paid tribute to 17-year-old Karl Henry who has tragically died in a road accident.
It is thought that treacherous weather conditions caused the incident in the early hours of Friday morning as the car he was in caught fire.
Police are currently investigating what happened.
Reserve Team manager Darren Wilson told the Official NCEL Website: "I'd like to thank the NCEL for their condolences and also offer our deepest sympathy to Karl's family on behalf of all at Hall Road Rangers and everyone associated with the club and all at Dene Park.
"From a personal point of view as manager of Hall Road Rangers Reserves for whom Karl played, can I say how much we all thought of Karl and how highly we regarded him as a player and valuable member of the club.
"He had broken through to the first team ranks from the under 18's and then the reserves this season and a bright future lay ahead for him.
"The whole club is devastated by his loss and, as a mark of respect, all matches playable this weekend from the under 9's youth team through to the senior team have been cancelled."
Meanwhile, clubs have also been posting their deepest condolences on the Unofficial NCEL Messageboard in support of Hall Road Rangers and Karl's family at this devastating time.
