Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2022/23 #5

18th August, 2022

An injury-time winner from T'nique Fishley grabbed North Ferriby a 3-2 victory at Eccleshill United in midweek that keeps them top of the early Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table.

The Villagers made it a maximum nine points so far after they were pegged back from 2-0 up by their hosts, a Joao Silva double in the final quarter-of-an-hour seemingly rescuing a draw for the Eagles after Daniel East and Danny Earl's goals for Ferriby.

Penistone Church secured a third win in four games as Reece High and Nathan Keightley notched up for the Penguins a 2-1 victory at Hemsworth Miners Welfare, Nash Connolly with a 77th minute consolation for the home side.

And, Barton Town complete the top three with Daniel North and Nathan Jarman scoring at either end of their match at Goole AFC, sandwiching a Samuel Cable penalty in a 2-1 success.

Winterton Rangers climb to fourth after a dramatic 3-2 home win over Garforth Town, Daniel Coupland looking to have snatched a point for the visitors in the 88th minute only for Paul Grimes to quickly grab a decisive third for the hosts.

A Thomas Greaves double put Thackley into a quickfire 2-0 lead after sixteen minutes at Hallam but the hosts rallied with Aaron Fell and Scott Ruthven restoring parity before the interval.

Then, a second half brace from Danny Deakin gave the home side the points with a 4-2 victory that moves the Countrymen up into fifth.

Luke Brooksbank struck twice in the last ten minutes as Silsden AFC earned a 3-2 win at Frickley Athletic whilst there was a 2-0 victory on their travels for Maltby Main at Knaresborough Town.

Nathan Valentine and Brandon Bagley struck in quick succession around the hour mark to give Andy Dawson and Lee Whitehead's side their first points of the season.

Joe Jagger cancelled out Slater Barkham-Barnes' opener for Golcar United as the hosting Emley AFC claimed a 1-1 draw and four goals were shared between Yorkshire Amateur and their visitors Bottesford Town.

Josh Fawcett struck late on for the Poachers after Keanen Mannings had put the Ammers 2-1 up just six minutes earlier.

Horbury Town return to the summit in Division One after their 4-0 win at Glasshoughton Welfare to make it four victories out of four.

James Cusworth's double had them two up by the break and then Kieran Ceesay and Samuel Kyeremeh made sure of the points in the second period.

Joe Pearson and Daniel Wood were the scorers as Dronfield Town defeated hosts Nostell Miners Welfare 2-0 and they climb to fourth in the table.

A brace from Adam Baskerville helped Rossington Main to a 3-2 win at Beverley Town with both of the hosts' goals coming from Joe Norton.

And, Brigg Town were 4-1 victors over Worsbrough Bridge Athletic at the Pinto Property Stadium, Dayle Hutson with a couple of their goals, added to by Scott Phillips and Fraser Papprill.

Meanwhile, Ollerton Town's home friendly with a Nottingham Forest XI side to celebrate them becoming a Community Club was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch after half-an-hour with their visitors leading 1-0.
