Macron NCEL 2025/26 Match Review #42

18th December, 2025

Albion Sports picked up three big points in their bid to move out of the Macron NCEL Premier Division relegation zone with a 3-0 victory at Pickering Town in midweek.

Mohammed Qasim broke the deadlock for the Lions on six minutes and they doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark through Nathan Cartman.

Aran Basi then struck a third towards the middle of the second period to secure the win that means the gap between Sports and safety is now down to just goal difference.

In the other Premier Division game that went ahead, Campion played out a goalless draw with visitors Golcar United to stay seventh whilst their opponents remain in seventeenth.

Two games fell victim to waterlogged pitches with Barton Town's home clash with Horbury Town and Liversedge's trip to Sheffield falling victim to the bad weather.

In Division One, leaders Dearne & District are now ten points clear at the summit following their 6-0 home win over Crowle Colts.

Curtis Wilkinson, Owen Sykes and Adam Baskerville struck to give them a three-goal cushion by the interval with Owen Fieldsend's double and a goal from Jamie Austin concluding the scoring in the second half.

Knaresborough Town were 4-0 victors at home to NCEL rivals Ilkley Town to progress from the Second Round of the West Riding County Cup.

Jack Lazenby, Slater Barkham-Barnes, Daniel Thirkell and George Meaking ensured a comfortable win for the Premier Division hosts over their Division One visitors.

And, Club Thorne Colliery bowed out with a 3-0 loss at home to North West Counties League side Barnoldswick Town.
