Six more sides have made it through to the Quarter-Finals of this season's JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock with Third Round victories in midweek.Tuesday night saw three teams progress with
Frickley Athletic,
Liversedge and
Rossington Main all seeing off Premier Division rivals.
Joshua Lindley got both of Frickley's goals as they dispatched visitors
Golcar United 2-0 whilst a late own goal from Marshall Nock saw Sedge through in a 3-2 win at
Pickering Town.
Lewis Barlow had given them a lead on the half hour but the Pikes rallied with a quickfire response, Joe Wood and Souleymane Coubaly putting them 2-1 up within the blink of an eye, before Barlow's second on 77 minutes restored parity that almost led to a penalty shoot-out until bad luck for the hosts sealed the deal.
It was a lot more straightforward for Rossington, meanwhile, as Gregory Young and Jack Watson struck in the first half and Niall Doran pounced just after the interval in a 3-0 home victory over
Albion Sports.
Three further ties took place on Wednesday night and late goals from Aiden Day and Jahro Parchment saw
Campion through as they beat visitors
Knaresborough Town 2-0.
Doncaster City trailed 2-0 at
Eccleshill United thanks to a first half brace from Joseph Storey but they staged a dramatic comeback in the last ten minutes to draw 2-2 with Billy Grimshaw and Kenzie Dillion getting on the scoresheet before a penalty shoot-out saw the First Division side go through 4-3 on spot kicks at the expense of their Premier Division hosts.
And, Zak Khan broke the 40-goal barrier for the season as his four goals helped
Route One Rovers to a 6-1 win at
Winterton Rangers, Umar Alizahoor and Reece Thompson also adding to their tally whilst Oliver Baldwin struck for the home side.
There was one game in the Premier Division in midweek with sixth-placed
Barton Town closing the gap to the top five to five points with a 3-1 win at
Bottesford Town, Fraser Papprill's double added to by Joel Shepard whilst Scott Matthews netted a consolation for the Poachers who stay sixteenth.
Brigg Town are up into sixth in Division One after their 2-0 victory over hosts
Nostell Miners Welfare, Joshua Batty's first-half stoppage time opener added to in the 78th minute by Henry Parr, with the home side remaining in the bottom three.
But,
Appleby Frodingham have moved to four points away from the drop zone after Krzysztof Jarosz struck in stoppage time to snatch them a 2-1 home win over
Selby Town.
The Robins, who are overtaken by their hosts into seventeenth, took the lead through Harry Clapham and Joshua Fraiwald levelled matters for App-Frod before the late drama.
And, in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup, Nathan Whitehead and Alexander Hardwick were the scorers for
Sheffield as they won 2-0 at home to Swallownest in their Third Round tie.
Meanwhile, a Lloyd Smith brace helped
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic to a 3-1 victory as the Division One side beat their Premier Division hosts
Wombwell Town, Juninho Blake getting their other goal and Kenneth Effah popping up in stoppage-time to break the home side's duck.
