28th November, 2011
The Secretary of Pickering Town is warning anyone who has received an email saying he has been robbed in Spain and needs money that it is a scam and urges them not to send any cash.
Keith Usher says his email address has been hacked and that he is actually fit and well and at home.
The message, which was also received by the Baris NCEL website, claimed that he was stuck in Spain having had all his money stolen and requested cash to be paid into a Western Union account.
The advice is to ignore the email.
