Elam and Hussain take over at Lions
9th May, 2026
Macron NCEL side Albion Sports have unveiled Lee Elam as their new first team manager as they await confirmation as to which division they will be play in next season.
The Lions finished in the Premier Division relegation zone in dramatic circumstances on the last day of the season but are waiting to see whether a reprieve will keep them at Step 5 or they will play in Division One in the next campaign.
A statement released by the club on social media said that Elam will be joined by his assistant Asif Hussain with both making the move from fellow NCEL side Eccleshill United following a successful period at the Eagles.
A spokesperson said: "A familiar face to many at the club, Lee previously represented Albion Sports as a player and brings with him a strong understanding of the club's history, values, and ambitions.
"The club conducted a thorough recruitment process and would like to thank all candidates who expressed an interest in the role and took the time to apply.
"We now look forward to working with Lee and Asif as we begin preparations for the upcoming season."
Elam, who takes over from Neil Sibson who stepped down last month, added: "I would like to thank the club for the opportunity.
"In our discussions, it was clear that there is a strong vision and ambition here, which closely align with my own.
"I am looking forward to the challenge of helping bring success to the club, and I will give my full commitment to leading the first-team squad.
"My focus will be on supporting the club's progress both on and off the pitch, as we work to build a competitive first team and strong foundations for the future.
"I can't wait to get started."
