Forrest leaves Dennyboys
2nd May, 2025
NCEL Premier Division side Thackley have begun the search for a new manager following their announcement of the departure of Danny Forrest.
Forrest, who joined the Dennyboys in 2023, guided the side to the promotion play-offs last month where they narrowly missed out on the move up to the Pitching In Northern Premier League.
But, he has now decided to take over the role at Liversedge who are rebuilding following their relegation from Step 4 of the National League System.
A statement released by Thackley said: "We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Danny for his dedication, hard work, and the progress made under his leadership.
"His achievements with us we knew would mean that he would inevitably attract interest from other clubs, and we always knew that, given his success, opportunities elsewhere would arise.
"Liversedge FC, who have operated at Step 4 and Step 3 over recent seasons, have presented Danny with a new challenge and an opportunity he felt he could not refuse at this stage of his managerial career.
"We can also sadly announce that Danny will depart alongside his backroom staff — Matthew Dempsey, Tom Higman and Ben Higginson — and we would like to express our gratitude to them all for their efforts and commitment during their time at Thackley AFC.
"We wish Danny, Matthew, Tom and Ben the very best in their new roles and thank them for everything they have contributed to the club."
Meanwhile, anyone who is interested in applying to become Thackley's new manager is asked to email any expression of interest and a football CV to the club's joint secretary, Richard Holmes, at richard.holmes@thackley-afc.co.uk.
