Poachers go green with solar power

5th April, 2025

NCEL Premier Division club Bottesford Town has taken a major step in sustainability by installing a state-of-the-art solar and battery system at the Barrett Steel Stadium at Birch Park.

Designed and installed by local firm TVES Ltd, this eco-friendly upgrade will cut costs and reduce the club's carbon footprint.

Made possible through club funding and generous support from North Lincolnshire Council's Community Grant Fund, the SSE Sustainable Development Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, this project follows the club's £1.4m redevelopment, uniting all 31 teams at the club at a single site.

Chairman Tony Reeve says it emphasises the Poachers' commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and thriving environment for players of all ages.

He explained: "We aim to promote well-being, diversity, and equal opportunities while delivering a better future for young people in our community."
