Claisse departs from South Leeds
12th February, 2026
South Leeds have announced the departure of manager Tom Claisse following an approach for him from a higher league club.
The Macron NCEL Division One side made the announcement on Wednesday night, saying: "We wish [Tom] all the very best as he moves on from a spell here which saw him overcome a difficult transition at the club where results seemed hard to come by.
"But, he went on to bring stability to the squad and, more recently, a turn around in form."
Claisse took over in the dugout in September following the departure of Craig Ogilvie and his last game in charge was a narrow 4-3 loss at Appleby Frodingham on Tuesday night that leaves South Leeds fifteenth in the table.
Chairman Reece Mudd added the following statement earlier today on social media: "Firstly, I would like to personally wish [Tom] all the best and thank him for his time here and the work he put into the club.
"I would just like to assure everyone that we will be working hard towards finding a suitable replacement from today and a decision won't be rushed.
"For now, the first team will be looked after by myself returning to the dugout alongside the current management team of Liam [Mudd] and Callum [McDonald] who have assisted all season so there will be no new faces or big changes.
"It's been a very strange season on the pitch with two managers already through the door, of course one of them being our decision to move on and the other out of our hands.
"I appreciate it's frustrating after having had the same manager for nearly ten years and the stability surrounding the club that comes with that.
"This season hasn't been quite what we had hoped and expected in terms of results and league position but this is only a bump in the road and our sole aim is to continue to finish the season as strong as possible and then look to rebuild again for next season.
"I just want to say the support we have received this season has been immense.
"As a club from a big city, a mile away from a Premier League club and surrounded by a lot of well followed amateur sports clubs your support has been honestly wonderful.
"We have averaged around 110 per game which is massive for us and at times this season pushed towards the 200 mark.
"I appreciate it's not the biggest in the league but with the points I have mentioned above it's great and just shows that we are continuing to grow and our local community are really getting behind us.
"Stick with us, we will work hard to make sure the right person is found and we will do all we can to bring someone in to the club who wants to be here for the long run and bring some more big days and nights back to South Leeds."
