Maltby unveil new management team
11th May, 2025
Maltby Main have announced that James Kaye, Leon Osbourne and Liam Hardy will be their new management team followed the departure of Joe Austin earlier in the week.
A statement released by the NCEL Division One side on Thursday said: "After several recent discussions regarding next season, Joe Austin has made the decision to step down from his role as men’s first team manager.
"The club would like to place on record our sincere thanks for all the hard work he has put in since his appointment last summer.
"We had a difficult start in the summer and Joe agreed to take the role on instead of playing, putting the club before himself.
"With only a small number of players registered, he put together a good young squad this season that has proven to be competitive against any team in the league, with some memorable wins along the way.
"He also created a link with Kyle Walker Academy and Rotherham Community Trust to give young players a route into the NCEL."
His coaching team of Jamie Bailey and Craig Hawthorne is also leaving Muglet Lane with the Miners also placing on record their thanks for all their hard work and commitment over the season.
Then, on Saturday, the club revealed who would be succeeding them in the dugout with Kaye becoming manager, Osbourne his assistant, and Hardy as player/first team coach.
And, preparations are now underway for the new campaign as the Miners look to build on the tenth-placed finish they secured in Division One last season.
