Macron NCEL 2025/26 Match Review #72

16th April, 2026

Rossington Main will face Liversedge in next month's final of the JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock after their 4-1 home win over Route One Rovers in midweek.

It will be the first time that Main have appeared in the final whilst Sedge, who were winners in 2006, will be aiming for the double after lifting the Macron NCEL Premier Division trophy last month.

Two goals each from Jack Watson and Ross Hannah ensured that they were not upset by their Division One visitors, Reece Thompson with a late consolation for the away side who found themselves 3-0 down by the half-time interval.

The final takes place at Scunthorpe United's Attis Arena ground on Tuesday 5th May, 2026.

Meanwhile, the last two matches of the regular Division One season were played and the line-up for this weekend's Play-Off ties was confirmed.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic won 3-0 at Appleby Frodingham to ensure they finish in second place and will host Leeds UFCA whilst Wakefield AFC will entertain Harrogate Railway Athletic in Saturday's semi-finals.

Isaac Jeffreys and Keelan Grist struck early on before Osumane Sidibe made sure of the victory with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining to leave their hosts in fifteenth spot.

And, Doncaster City were 1-0 home victors over Louth Town, Michael Jones with the 61st minute decider to see them leapfrog their opponents and end the campaign in sixteenth, a place above the White Wolves.
