Handsworth and
Pickering Town picked up three points on their travels to stay sixth and seventh, respectively, with Mitchell Dunne and Oliver Currie netting for the Ambers in a 2-1 win after Jack McMenemy's early opener for hosts
Bottesford Town.
Souleymane Coulibaly scored twice for the Pikes as they beat
Penistone Church 2-0, the home side dropping to eleventh after they were overtaken by
Parkgate who won 5-4 in a breathless game with
Golcar United at Green Lane.
George Doyle gave the away side a fifth minute lead but the Steelmen bounced back with Bradley Gregory netting twice to give them a 2-1 advantage by the interval before the game swung again in Golcar's favour with goals from Zachary Rushworth and Callum Petch putting them 3-2 up by midway through the second period.
Parkgate then struck three times in nine minutes, Alex Wonham getting on the scoresheet and Gregory doubling his tally to four, to make it 5-3 and Daniel Naidole got a late consolation to complete the scoring in an enthralling encounter.
There was also great drama as basement side
Horbury Town picked up their first victory in over a month with a 3-2 triumph at
Albion Sports.
The game was goalless until the 68th minute when Joe Jagger gave the visitors the lead in their quest for what could prove to be three vital points but a Nathan Cartman penalty and a Fernando Moke Tumba strike had them 2-1 down as the match ventured towards stoppage time.
Just as Horbury's followers could have resigned themselves to another defeat, James Cusworth popped up with an equaliser and Jagger's second in injury time saw them snatch the points and close the gap to safety to four points.
Next-to-bottom
Wombwell Town thought they had also got a priceless victory after Jack Steers' 15th minute strike at
Knaresborough Town but the home side's stoppage time leveller through Daniel Thirkell meant the spoils were shared.
And,
Frickley Athletic are up into thirteenth after their 4-1 home win over
Rossington Main with one each for Shaun Heselwood, Ifeanyi Nnenanua, Lucas Robinson and Charlie Clegg whilst Ross Hannah got what was an equaliser for the visitors.
In Division One, leaders
Dearne & District's six win in a row keeps them three points clear at the summit, Adam Baskerville, Alexander Varley and Owen Fieldsend with the goals in a 3-0 scoreline at next-to-bottom
Winterton Rangers.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic and
Harrogate Railway Athletic continue their pursuit as wins mean they stay within touching distance in the top three.
Jake Squires, Lewis O'Connor and Josh Brown were the scorers as the Briggers beat visitors
Ilkley Town 3-0 and Alex Ingham and Dominic Creamer ensured a 2-1 victory for the Rail at
Goole AFC after going behind to an early James Eyles strike.
Fourth-placed
Wakefield AFC lost ground as their Friday night match at home with
Maltby Main was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and they are now just ahead on goal difference of
Leeds UFCA who cantered to a 5-0 home win over
Appleby Frodingham.
Oliver Clarke netted twice whilst Harrison Rowley, Toby Stennett and Junayd Cassius-Gill added to their tally with four of the goals coming in the final twenty minutes.
Armthorpe Welfare triumphed by the same scoreline at home to
Nostell Miners Welfare, Bayley Lowe's double along with one each for Cole Patrick, Adam Morrison and Michael Dunn, to stay sixth whilst
Crowle Colts and
Route One Rovers now complete the top eight.
Crowle beat basement side
Glasshoughton Welfare 4-1, Alfie Fudge and Declan Bacon adding to a brace from Robert Guilfoyle, whilst Zak Khan's goalscoring antics continue as a hat-trick, including two penalties, took his season's tally to 36 in Rovers' 4-0 victory at
Selby Town.
Joshua Batty and Adam Drury secured a 2-0 win for
Brigg Town at home to
South Leeds, there was a point apiece for Athersley Recreation and visitors Doncaster City in a 1-1 draw and Club Thorne Colliery played out a goalless game with visitors Louth Town.
