Knaresborough Town are the first team in to the Final of this season's JCP Construction NCEL League Cup in memory of James Hitchcock after a penalty shoot-out victory in midweek.Their Semi-Final with visitors
Penistone Church remained goalless throughout ninety minutes and extra-time in what was a tightly fought encounter.
Knaresborough then won 5-4 on spot kicks and will face either
Beverley Town or
Silsden AFC in the showpiece finale at Scunthorpe United's Attis Arena at the start of next month.
Elsewhere, Premier Division champions Silsden have moved seven points clear at the top of the table after Jake Maltby and Kayle Price's first half strikes were added to by Thomas Greaves after the interval in their 3-0 home victory over
Barton Town.
There was a massive win for
Albion Sports as Nathan Cartman struck twice in their 2-1 victory over visitors
Rossington Main who pulled one back in stoppage time through Grey Young.
That lifted Sports up into the play-off zone ahead of the final weekend of the Premier Division season with three teams - Sports, Beverley and
Thackley - battling it out to take the remaining two spots available and extend their campaign.
Meanwhile, it was honours even as
Eccleshill United entertained neighbours
Campion, Idris Atta's 70th minute opener for the hosts cancelled out quickly by Samuel Bradley to make it a point apiece in the local derby.
And, in the midweek's only Division One game, it was also 1-1 between
Athersley Recreation and visitors
Harrogate Railway Athletic.
Alfie Bakes gave the hosts the lead towards the end of the opening period but Harris Eggleston's 77th minute equaliser ensured that the spoils were shared.
