Wakefield AFC were knocked out of the Isuzu FA Vase in their rearranged game on Saturday despite a spirited effort at home to North Shields in their First Round tie.The visitors scored in the 49th minute as Stephen Bodle's side fell to a narrow 1-0 loss in his first game in charge, leaving

In the league, there was no doubt where the biggest game of the weekend took place as the top two in the Premier Division met with Silsden AFC taking the honours in a 3-2 win at Penistone Church to extend their lead at the summit.
Penistone led 2-0 at the break, courtesy of Luca Defalco's and James Young's penalty, a scoreline that would have put them in pole position, but Silsden were back level within ten minutes of the restart through Casey Stewart and Luke Brooksbank.
Stewart grabbed his second and the visitors' third with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining to take the victory that puts them three points clear of
Golcar United who leapfrog Penistone into second spot after they swept aside visitors
Winterton Rangers 6-0.
Golcar were 4-0 ahead by the interval, George Doyle striking twice with one each for Alfie Wilkinson and Adam Field, before adding to their tally in the second period as Doyle completed his hat-trick and Oliver Russon got on the scoresheet late on.
Thackley climb to fourth following their 6-3 victory at
Handsworth with two goals apiece for Antony Brown and Finn Donovan whilst Tawheed Ahmed and Ben Grech-Brooksbank also found the net.
Scott Ruthven scored twice and Mitchell Dunne grabbed a goal for the Ambers who trailed 3-0 at half-time.
Albion Sports drop to fifth as their home game with
Tadcaster Albion on Friday night was abandoned after ten minutes due to heavy fog.
A hat-trick from Leon Howarth helped sixth-placed
Hallam to a 6-0 win at
Frickley Athletic, Brodie Litchfield with a brace and Rio Allan also scoring for the Countrymen who converted three penalties to narrow the gap to the top five to three points.
Edward Birch's equaliser secured
Beverley Town a 1-1 home draw with
Rossington Main after Oliver Nowak had put the visitors ahead and they move up to seventh whilst Rossington climb to twelfth.
Hosts
Barton Town and
Campion also played out a 1-1 draw, Ryan Thompson putting the Swans in front before a quick equaliser for the away side from Ewan Gregson midway through the second period.
Bottesford Town had thought they had snatched a win when Matthew Broadley grabbed his second in stoppage time to put his side 3-2 up but visitors
Pickering Town had the final say as Ethan Kachosa then pounced to ensure a point apiece in a 3-3 draw.
And, basement side
Goole AFC claimed their first win in just over two months as a Mark West brace and a Shay Muirhead strike helped them to a 3-2 home victory to move to within three points of the two sides above them, Winterton and their visitors
Knaresborough Town.
Division One leaders
Horbury Town maintain a six point gap at the summit after Billy Mole, James Travis and Jack Leach scored in a 3-0 win at
Harrogate Railway Athletic on a weekend that also saw victories for
Dearne & District and Wombwell in the top three.
Dearne beat visitors
Maltby Main 5-2 on Friday night, Jamie Austin with a hat-trick for the hosts with Justin Circuit and Bayley Lowe also scoring whilst Luke Walker got both of the Miners' goals.
And, Wombwell defeated bottom side
Yorkshire Amateur 4-1 after Noel Nfonkey had put the Ammers ahead to shock the hosts but Joshua Nodder made sure the scores were level at the break before his second, along with goals from Jordan Kershaw and Jack Dando, secured the win.
Athersley Recreation are up to fourth after Sam Thompson's opener, a Charlie Auty double, and a Nathan Perks strike claimed a comfortable 4-0 home win over
Shelley on Friday night.
South Leeds climb into the play-off zone as first half goals from James Law and Ryan McKendry helped them to a 2-1 win at
Armthorpe Welfare, Harry Charlotte with a late consolation for the home side.
A 3-3 draw keeps
