Albion Sports' advantage at the top of the NCEL Premier Division has been cut to just goal difference after their defeat at Beverley Town in midweek.Beverley grabbed a much-needed 3-0 victory to lift themselves up to thirteenth in the table, thanks to a first-half strike from McCauley Snelgrove and two late goals from Glen Sani and Oliver Nicholson that rubber-stamped the result.
Penistone Church are now level on points with Sports, climbing to second as a Nathan Keightley brace, added to by Kieran Ryan, ensured a 3-1 home win over
Barton Town, the Swans' goal coming from Thomas Waudby.
Church led 1-0 going into the final five minutes before doubling their advantage, Barton then pulled a goal back but Keightley ensured the victory in stoppage time with his second of the evening.
Campion jump over their opponents into tenth after beating visitors
Eccleshill United 4-0, Ewan Gregson with a double whilst there was one each for Aidan Kirby and Aidan Day.
It was an emotional victory for Campion who, prior to the game, held a minute's silence for former secretary Dave Keegan who passed away at the end of last week.
In the midweek's only Division One encounter, Adam Daffern and Louis Andre netted for
Shelley in their 2-0 win at
Appleby Frodingham and their side moves up to twelfth in the table.
Golcar United have progressed through to the Third Round of the JCP Construction League Cup but needed a penalty shoot-out to finally shake off Premier Division rivals
Parkgate.
George Doyle had put Golcar ahead in the opening period but Brad Gregory's equaliser for the visitors early in the second half saw the tie end 1-1 and it was the home side who prevailed 5-4 on spot kicks.
In County Cup action,
Ilkley Town sprung a major upset as they won 2-0 at home to National League outfit FC Halifax Town in the First Round of the West Riding County Cup.

Tadcaster Albion and
Silsden AFC were winners in two all-NCEL ties with a late Jordan Hines penalty and an even later Ethan Kachosa strike securing Tadcaster a 2-0 victory at home to
Goole AFC in a game that had remained goalless until the 89th minute.
And, Jack Stockdill's 84th minute strike secured Silsden a 2-1 win at
Yorkshire Amateur after Lewis Morgan's opener had been cancelled out by the hosts through Ousmane Sidibe.
There was disappointment, however, for
Harrogate Railway Athletic who went down 3-1 at home to Route One Rovers, Desmond Okoru with the Rail's goal that was an equaliser.
There were two Lincolnshire Senior Trophy First Round ties involving NCEL sides with
Brigg Town springing an upset at home to Premier Division side
Bottesford Town.
Joshua Batty put the Division One hosts in front before an equaliser came courtesy of Blake Gregory and the Zebras re-established their lead through a goal from Scott Hutchinson.
That was a poignant moment as he paid tribute in his celebrations to his mum Donna who had passed away earlier in the week - before the game, there had been a minute's silence in her memory.
Brett Agnew completed the scoring to send Brigg through to the next stage.
Louth Town, however, bowed out of the competition as, despite a goal from Alex Aldrich, they drew 1-1 at home with Blackstones and it was the away side who progressed, winning 3-0 on penalties.
