Silsden AFC were the winners in Saturday's top four clash in the Premier Division as they beat hosts Golcar United on another goal-filled weekend of NCEL action.Golcar, who started the game at the summit of the table, began in spectacular fashion with Oliver Russon netting in the opening minute.
But, Kayle Price levelled matters towards the middle of the first half and then Thomas Greaves grabbed what proved to be the winner for the visitors with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.
The 2-1 victory lifts Silsden into third whilst Golcar are replaced as league leaders by
Albion Sports who won 4-1 at
Pickering Town.
There were two goals each for Ellis Wade and Nathan Cartman as the Lions picked up three points on their travels with Omar Sanyang scoring the Pikes' consolation.
Thackley stay fifth after a 2-2 home draw with
Rossington Main, Finn Donovan's early brace seemingly giving them the victory until late goals from Mitchell Langton and Ashley Worsfold saw the spoils shared.
Sixth-placed
Hallam were held by the same scoreline by visitors
Bottesford Town, Lewis Smith with an 88th minute equaliser for the away side to make it a point apiece.
Earlier, Jonathan Nyantou had given the Poachers an early lead but Calum Ward's equaliser and Rio Allan's penalty had turned the game in the hosts' favour.
Parkgate climb to seventh after a Shay Evans-Booth double, added to by Jacob Pearson, secured a 3-1 home victory for the Steelmen over
Beverley Town.
Frickley Athletic picked up a priceless three points with a 3-0 win at bottom side
Goole AFC, Charlie Clegg, Robert Guilfoyle and Marcel Chipamunga with the goals that move their side four points clear of the drop zone.
Campion also claimed a much-needed victory to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom two as Kaisar Ali and Ewan Gregson struck for a 2-0 win at
Tadcaster Albion in the division's Friday night game.
And, a midtable battle between
Knaresborough Town and visitors
Eccleshill United ended in stalemate in Saturday's sole goalless encounter.
Wins for the top three in Division One mean they are beginning to forge a big gap between themselves and the chasing pack.
Leaders
Horbury Town stretched their unbeaten run to ten games to keep a six point lead at the summit with a 3-2 victory at
Dronfield Town.
Samuel Bebbington's spot kick put the hosts in front on eighteen minutes but Horbury were ahead by the break through Luke Playford and Samuel Kyeremeh.
Callum Mawbey levelled matters once again but Kyeremeh's second with a quarter of the game remaining proved to be the winner.
Wombwell Town and
Dearne & District stay second and third, respectively, with a six point gap between themselves and fourth-placed
Maltby Main.
Joshua Nodder and Daniel Youel were the scorers for Wombwell in a 2-1 win at
Swallownest whilst Brandon Burke's hat-trick helped Dearne to a 5-2 home victory over
Ilkley Town.
Brigg Town claimed their second successive 6-1 win to defeat visitors Maltby, Joshua Batty struck twice whilst there was one each for Oliver Fisher, Scott Hutchinson, Jack Boswell and Stephen McCarron for the Zebras.
Athersley Recreation have climbed into the top five after they played out a goalless draw on Friday night at home to
Nostell Miners Welfare.
Wakefield AFC were the weekend's biggest winners as they defeated basement visitors
Yorkshire Amateur 8-0, Jayden Sandhu with four of the goals for the home side who move up into tenth.
James Danby was the matchwinner for
Selby Town as his 84th minute strike secured a 2-1 victory for the Robins at
Armthorpe Welfare whilst Lewis Andrew netted twice for
Club Thorne Colliery as they beat visitors
Louth Town 3-0.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic withstood a second half comeback from hosts
South Leeds to win 3-2, courtesy of goals in the opening period from Lewis O'Connor, Lloyd Smith and Keelan Grist.
And, Liam Flanagan's 77th minute strike proved decisive for
Glasshoughton Welfare in their 2-1 home victory over
Harrogate Railway Athletic.
In the weekend's County Cup action,
Handsworth won 4-1 at Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League side Oughtibridge with a Mitchell Dunne double added to by Harrison Marvin and Daniel Pieterson in their Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup Second Round tie.
There were three games in the First Round of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy with Charlie Clements scoring for
Barton Town in a 1-1 draw at Harrowby United before his side went through 4-3 on penalties.
But,
Winterton Rangers were beaten 5-1 at Boston Town, Ryan King getting their goal, whilst
Appleby Frodingham went down 10-2 to visitors Bourne Town.
