The funeral arrangements have been announced for Bruce Bickerdike who passed away last Friday night following a short illness.

Tributes have been pouring into the league for Bruce on an unprecedented scale, showing the unmatched impact he had on non-league football and the NCEL over a number of decades.

And now, everyone is being asked to please join his family to pay respects to a gentleman with a wicked sense of humour and a great servant to grassroots football and also to the league which he served with such commitment and passion for this level of the game.

The funeral takes place next Thursday (20th), starting at 1.15pm from 2 Cardew Close, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, S62 6LB.

There will be a 1.30pm service at St Nicolas Church, 117 Kilnhurst Rd, Rotherham, S62 5DN. [On street parking only].

And then a 2.30pm internment at Rawmarsh Greasborough Lane Cemetery, Greasborough Lane, off Haugh Road, Rawmarsh, S62 7AR.

Refreshments will be available afterwards at Roundwood Pavilion, the home of Bruce's beloved Parkgate FC, on Green Lane in Rawmarsh and all are welcome.

The Roundwood Pavilion - with new signage of Rotherham Hospice Community stadium - is accessible from noon.

As there is only limited on-street parking at the church, it is advised that mourners park at Roundwood Pavilion and share full cars to the church.
