AGM takes place at New York Stadium

14th June, 2025

The NCEL's AGM took place at Rotherham United's New York Stadium on Saturday, celebrating the achievements of the past season and looking ahead to a brand new campaign that kicks off in July.

A special presentation took place to honour Peter Lang who, after many decades of involvement with the league, is stepping down from his role as Vice President.

He was presented with a memento by Life Member Brian Gould and we thank Peter for his years of service to the competition.

On-the-field, it was a bittersweet afternoon as we said farewell to the two sides who have been promoted to the Northern Premier League.

Champions Silsden AFC were presented with the Premier Division trophy by our President Keith Hackett.

And, we also say goodbye to founder members Hallam who were promoted via the play-offs, presented the trophy at today's AGM by chairman Brian Jones.

Our chairman also handed over the Division One champions trophy to Horbury Town whilst Board Director Bruce Bickerdike did the same with the Play-Offs silverware to Wombwell Town as both clubs prepare for life in the Premier Division.

And, Beverley Town, who were our JCP Construction League Cup in memory of James Hitchcock winners, celebrated their success with our General Manager Matt Jones.

We also honoured those who were successful in the David Morrall Fair Play League with three winners in the Premier Division - Beverley Town, Golcar United and Parkgate.

The runners-up were Campion who were also honoured at the AGM.

And, Registrations Secretary Steve Wall presented Horbury Town and Armthorpe Welfare with the Fair Play winners and runners-up prizes for Division One.

The line-ups for the Premier Division and Division One were also confirmed with Dronfield Town, Shelley, Swallownest and Yorkshire Amateur being the other four sides leaving us and we wish them all the best in their respective futures.

And, we said welcome (back in some cases) to Crowle Colts, Doncaster City, Farsley Celtic, Leeds UFCA, Liversedge, Route One Rovers and Sheffield who have joined us for the 2025/26 campaign.

This is how the two divisions will line up:

And, the First Round draw for this season's League Cup was made with eleven ties taking place, dates to be arranged.

We thank everyone who attended the AGM and to Rotherham United for their excellent hospitality, as we now count down the days to the start of the new campaign on Saturday 26th July, 2025.
