Management team leave Brigg

Brigg Town have announced the departure of their management team of Anthony Bowsley, Nathan Peat, Paul Robson and John Shirley.

The news came hours after the Toolstation NCEL Division One side announced that pre-season training that was due to take place tomorrow had been cancelled.

In a statement, the Zebras said: "The club would like to put on record its grateful thanks for all their hard work and wish them best of luck in the future."

The club have moved quickly to appoint Lee Thompson as their new manager and he will be assisted by Simon Roach.

Open training sessions will be held at The Hawthorns on Tuesday and Thursday in the next two weeks, starting at 7pm, and past, present and future players are welcome.

New Brigg management team named

Brigg Town have moved swiftly to appoint a new management team with Anthony Bowsley and Nathan Peat taking charge of the dugout for the Toolstation NCEL Division One side.

In a statement, the Zebras say they "wish them both well in their quest for glory and give them every support required."

They added that they would like to thank former managers Scott Hellewell, Paul Grimes and Rob Watson as well as coach Mark McDonnagh for all their hard work and dedication and wish them every success in the future after they stepped down at the weekend.

Brigg have also given a huge thanks to reserve team manager Lee Thompson who stepped in to help out in Tuesday night's league trip to Glasshoughton Welfare.

It has also been announced that the new management team will continue to work with experienced physio Ian Turner and that the news from the dressing room is everyone is staying around.

Brigg management team steps down

Paul Grimes, Scott Hellewell and Rob Watson have resigned as the management team at Toolstation NCEL Division One side Brigg Town.

A statement from the Zebras said that the trio's decision to step down "had been their choice and the club accepts their choice".

Lee Thompson, Anthony Bowsley and Nathan Peat will be in charge for Tuesday night's league trip to Glasshoughton Welfare.

Brigg have had an inconsistent start to the campaign following their relegation last season from the Premier Division, winning six and losing five of their league matches so far to leave them currently in twelfth position.
