Agnew takes charge at Zebras

16th May, 2023

Former Bridlington Town player/manager Brett Agnew is the new boss of Brigg Town, the Toolstation NCEL Division One side has announced.

It follows the departure of Dave Smith earlier this month after the Zebras fell short of their promotion ambitions, failing to secure a place in the play-offs after finishing ninth in the table.

A statement read: "It is with regret that the club can confirm we have accepted first team manager Dave Smith’s resignation

"We would like to thank him and his team for his professionalism that he brought within him during his short time at the club."

Agnew was unveiled as Smith's replacement on Monday with Brigg also revealing the following day that Joe Lamplough and James Swann will make up the rest of his management team.

Smith confirmed as new Zebras boss

28th November, 2022

Brigg Town have announced that former Cleethorpes Town boss Dave Smith has become the Toolstation NCEL Division One side's new manager.

He replaces Peat who left the role last week and he took charge of his first game on Saturday at Athersley Recreation.

A statement from the Zebras said: "Dave brings a great pedigree of experience with him, having managed through the ranks at Cleethorpes Town from youth team all the way to first team manager in a 10-year spell, winning back-to-back Lincs Senior Cups in 2019 and 2020."

Smith will be assisted by Matthew Powell and Jon Davy with Mario Augusta also announced as physio.

Zebras departure for Peat

22nd November, 2022

Nathan Peat has left his role as manager of Toolstation NCEL Division One side Brigg Town, the Zebras have announced.

Peat had taken over the role in the summer following the departure of Marcus Newell by mutual consent, swapping playing in defence for a place in the dugout at the EC Surfacing Stadium.

The news came after Saturday's home league loss to Retford FC, their third defeat in a row in a run that had also seen them exit the Isuzu FA Vase at the Second Round stage.

The Zebras are currently seventh in the table, two points away from the play-off zone and nineteen points behind runaway leaders Campion.

The announcement of Peat's departure was made by Brigg in a post on social media that read: "The club regrets to confirm it has parted company with First Team Manager Nathan Peat.

"We would like to thanks Nathan for his hard work and commitment to the role, and wish him all the best for the future."
