New management team at Zebras

5th May, 2025

Brigg Town have confirmed the appointment of a new management team, ushering in a fresh chapter at the club as they prepare for next season in NCEL Division One.

Long-serving Zebras Stephen McCarron and Martin Pembleton have been named joint managers, with Daniel North stepping in as assistant boss.

The club acted swiftly following recent managerial changes, with their directors stating: "We are delighted to announce that we have moved quickly to appoint our new management team, Stephen McCarron and Martin Pembleton.

"Both have been at the club for a number of years and have, between them, played hundreds of games for the club.

"They now begin a new chapter in their journey with us."

The club also extended heartfelt gratitude to former managers Brett Agnew and Joe Lamplough for their two years of dedicated service, adding: "They were both a credit to the club, and we thank them for all their efforts both on the pitch, and also with the hard work off the pitch that not everyone sees."

Pembleton expressed his pride at the appointment, calling it a "pinch-me kind of moment."

"Both of us are honoured to be appointed as the new managers of Brigg Town FC.

"I would like to place on record a huge thanks to Brett and Joe for giving me the opportunity to join their coaching staff last season.

"I truly appreciate the experience I gained from them both, and I wish them nothing but the best for the future.

"The club have shown great trust and belief in Macca and me, and we’re committed to building a strong, competitive squad that reflects the values of the club and its community.

"We aim to create an environment where every player has the opportunity to grow, improve, and contribute to Brigg Town’s success."

McCarron added: "I’m incredibly proud to take on this new role.

"Having captained Brigg Town, I’ve experienced the highs and lows of this club.

"Now, alongside a great friend like Pembo, I’m excited to embark on this new chapter and we’re looking forward to building something special together."

Joining them is former Brigg Town player Daniel North, who takes on the role of assistant manager following his retirement from playing.

He said: "After retirement, this is the next step in my career and what a great club to be at."

McCarron and Pembleton praised the appointment, stating: "Daniel brings with him a wealth of experience, a strong tactical understanding of the game, and a proven ability to lead and inspire.

"His knowledge of the sport, combined with his dynamic leadership style, will be a valuable asset as we continue to build on our ambitions both on and off the pitch."
