Hindley steps down days after takeover
19th January, 2018
Worksop Town manager Ryan Hindley has stepped down from his role at the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division club after offering his resignation to its new board of directors.
Hindley had been in charge for eight months and one of his assistants Craig Spink will be caretaker boss for Saturday's league match at home to Pontefract Collieries before being retained in what the Tigers have called "an alternative capacity".
Stuart Lowe, who was also part of the management team, has also left the club, Worksop announced in a statement posted on their website on Friday afternoon.
Club spokesman Jake Brown said: "The club has accepted Ryan’s resignation.
"Sadly, it has not worked out as we all hoped, we wish him and Stuart all the very best in the future.
"We would like to thank Ryan for steering us through a tricky period during the recent takeover."
The news comes days after the Tigers announced that local businessman Paul Tomkins had become the new chairman of the club with Paul Williams and Niall Robertson also joining as its managing director and director of operations, respectively.
Worksop are currently tenth in the Premier Division with five draws and two defeats in their last seven league matches.
